Monitor Panel:
In June, price growth of global monitor panels continued to slow down, and prices of some mainstream specifications are expected to level off. Following the conclusion of the 618 shopping festival stocking cycle and the full release of pre-stocking demand by brands, brand inventory levels have kept rising, leading to a marginal decline in panel procurement willingness among major brands and other clients. Meanwhile, TV panel prices have stabilized, and the continuous transmission of set cost pressure has greatly reduced brands' tolerance for panel price hikes, further curbing upward price momentum. Although rising costs of upstream materials and higher supply concentration have provided bottom support for panel prices, terminal demand is clearly weakening, and the price increase dividend for panels is gradually fading. Sigmaintell forecasts that the price growth of mainstream monitor panel specifications will narrow further in June, with some specifications stabilizing. The overall market will enter a period of steady adjustment.
1. 21.5" FHD: Prices of both Open Cell and LCM mainstream panels remained flat MoM.
2. 23.8" FHD: Prices of IPS Open Cell and LCM panels rose by $0.1 MoM; prices of VA Open Cell and LCM panels stayed unchanged.
3. 27" FHD: Prices of IPS Open Cell and LCM panels increased by $0.1 MoM; prices of VA Open Cell and LCM panels held steady.
Notebook Panel:
Global mainstream notebook panel prices stayed stable in June, while mid-to-high-end specifications faced mild downward pressure. On the demand side, the end of the 618 stocking cycle and inventory pressure from earlier pre-stocking have resulted in weaker brand demand MoM. On the supply side, panel makers adopted a build-to-order strategy with restrained capacity release, maintaining a reasonable supply level for mainstream-sized panels. In addition, rising prices of upstream materials including polarizers and driver ICs have pushed up the BOM cost of panels. Makers are strongly motivated to stabilize prices and secure profits. However, amid expectations of increasing OLED capacity in the second half of the year, mid-to-high-end panel specifications are under slight price pressure. Considering supply, demand and cost factors, Sigmaintell predicts that notebook panel prices will remain overall stable in June with divergent performance across different specifications. Prices of low-end and mainstream products will stay flat MoM, while mid-to-high-end specifications will see varied performance with mild downward pressure.
1. Low-end HD TN panels: Prices remained flat MoM;
2. IPS FHD & FHD+ panels: Prices of mainstream 16:9 and entry-level 16:10 specifications were unchanged MoM; mid-to-high-end specifications showed differentiated price movements.
